A week has passed since the completion of the international shipping exhibition. With the joyful frenzy over, we've had a chance to reflect on this unique experience. This year’s edition of Posidonia was highly anticipated since the pandemic caused the biannual event's postponement. However, the wait paid off! The record-breaking attendance of 29,000 visitors (and a total participation that exceeded the 40,000 people mark), has brought much-needed optimism to the affected maritime industry. No wonder it was described as the “Big Bang Event”!
For us at Oriani, this was a very special occasion, as we participated for the first time as exhibitors. The Oriani stand reflected our motto “Your One-Stop-Shop for Maritime Digital Transformation”, promoting the value of maritime digitalisation through 14 innovative solutions. Additionally, we were honoured by the presence of six co-exhibitors: ShipServ, HiLo, Spares CNX, Windward, MedAssist.online and MaritimeTrainer, all of whom we represent in Greece.
From the bustling corridors of Metropolitan Expo to our crowded stand, these are some of our best moments from Posidonia 2022:
Meeting with people: The five-day event has been an invaluable opportunity for our team of professionals to network, talk to prospects and clients, reconnect with partners and discuss with visitors from all around the world.
Addressing major industry issues: Three essential seminars were held during the exhibition, presenting solutions for maritime incident prevention (HiLo), sustainable trade (ShipServ) and inventory mismanagement (Spares CNX).
Giving back to the new generation: We shared our professional experience through dialogue with university students of the YES (Young Executives Shipping) Forum.
Memorable visits: Israel's ambassador, Yossi Amrani, visited our stand to discuss with our co-founder Philip Uhrskov Nielsen about regional tech companies, Orca AI and Windward. A visit by Mr. Michael Vrettos gave us the opportunity to rejoice over the recent RINA certification of our K2 Secure solution (read more).
Spreading the news: Two major cooperations were published at ‘Posidonia Today’. Latsco creating Digital Twins of its vessels, using our solution 3D-Cosmos (read more). TMS Cardiff Gas taking the first step towards digital medical care with MedAssist.online (read more).
Participating in sport activities: On the weekend prior to the exhibition, we played basketball at the “Posidonia 3x3 Basketball” event and came in 5th place. When the opportunity arose, the team posed with basketball legends Theodoros Papaloukas and Dimitris Diamantidis. The following day we ran for the "Posidonia Running Event" which was attended by 1,450 runners and won 3rd and 5th place, with Dimitris Kaliakoudis and Xenia Katsimantou!
Our Co-founder, Philip Uhrskov Nielsen, wrote an insightful article about the exhibition, titled "There are Shipping exhibitions across the globe and then there is… Posidonia" or alternatively "A Greek overdose of the global maritime industry", read it here.
A huge Thank You, to all of you who visited our stand, our co-exhibitors, our team and of course everyone behind Posidonia 2022! - see you on Friday the 3rd of June 2024
